All insurers whose tax liability for the preceding calendar year was $1,000 or more must file an Installment Reporting Statement. The installment shall be an amount equal to at least 50% (50 percent) of the total tax liability for the preceding calendar year.
All licensed insurance companies, including reinsurance companies, registered risk retention groups, and risk purchasing groups must file the insurance tax return even if there were no direct written premiums in DC during the calendar year.
Pursuant to District of Columbia Code, all licensed and/or registered insurance entities must renew their license(s), registration(s), and/or Certificate(s) of Authority (where applicable) annually by May 1.
